Well, this has been quite the week for me and Cameron! I had made a goal that I was coming to spend this week potty training him. I made it my number one priority. This meant neither he or I could leave the house until we got the potty training under control. Monday seemed like the longest day of my life. I kept my eyes glued on him the entire day. He ran around naked and I would get him to the potty whenever he started to go. He was so excited when he finally went on the potty, he screamed "I did it!" Of course, the candy I bribed him with was a huge incentive. I was so tired and grumpy by Monday night, Family Home Evening wasn't the most pleasant. Cameron hadn't gone for three hours and I knew the second I turned away, he would wet on the carpet. During, FHE, I told Courtney I would pay her ten dollars if she could get Cameron to go in the next five minutes. It didn't happen. But thankfully, he went on the potty twenty minutes later. It was a huge celebration for the whole family. Tuesday got even better, Courtney watched Cameron while I took a short break at the gym. He went number two on the potty. Wednesday was even better, but he was still naked most of the day. Thursday morning he woke up with his nightime diaper on and actually asked to wear his underwear (He has Thomas the train and Diego underwear). I was excited and took this as a good sign. He wore underwear most all of Thursday and Friday. He's pulling them off himself and running to the potty. He has had a few accidents, but is doing very well overall. We are all so proud of him. My heart and understanding goes out to any parent who is potty training their child. It is a very difficult and stressful time for both parent and child. Just hang in there, it will eventually happen!
"I did it!"
